Fascinated by animals from an early age, Sebastian Avoray strives to capture their energy and spirit with every brushstroke. Working across various mediums, he blends sponges, brushes, palette knives and other tools to create energetic textures and movements, reflecting the raw, untamed spirit of the wild.
Avoray specialises in both Surrealism and Contemporary styles, exploring each style individually and occasionally blending them.
What started with a passion for wildlife, Avoray wanted to explore the power, yet vulnerability, of animals and nature and what impact we have on them. Each piece can be enjoyed at the surface level yet reveals greater depth and meaning upon closer reflection.
Beyond his personal work, Avoray is deeply passionate about community art. He has collaborated on creative projects for a hospital, using art to inspire, uplift, and bring people together. He believes that artistic expression and participation are essential for mental and physical well-being. Profits from his sales support these projects.

Hospital Waiting Room Art
After learning about a new waiting room being built at Poole Hospital, Avoray created two large paintings to fill the empty walls. Understanding the anxiety patients may feel in hospital waiting rooms, Avoray designed complex, vibrant coral reef scenes to distract, engage, and create a sense of calm for those waiting.
Looking for Octo NHS Children's Book
Working with some key members at the hospital, Avoray made 5 large ocean-themed banners for a playground at Poole Hospital. Each banner explores 1 of the 5 oceans. Inspired by the puzzle books he used to read as a child, Avoray wrote a story following the adventures of a smart red octopus as it journeys through the five oceans, encountering all sorts of fascinating aquatic environments and creatures. The books also serve as an interactive educational tool for children while they await treatment. This allows them to see how many of certain species they can spot and learn fun facts about each animal.
